5.2 Shares and settings
After a TIS-Office stand-alone or Client installation you should check the
security settings so that all users can access the data stored in TIS-Office. You
must also check whether access by "non administrators", i.e. general users, is
possible.
5.2.1 TIS-Office file and folder sharing tool
The "TIS-Office Permission" utility is used to share folders and entries in the
registry file. These shares should be checked.
Follow these steps to set up shares and permissions for all TIS-Office users:
Tip
In Windows XP and Windows Vista, new folders may be automatically write-
protected. You should therefore check whether TIS-Office folders are write-
protected and remove the protection if necessary.
Condition
So that you can use the TIS-Office file and folder sharing tool you must have
administrator rights or have permission to install programs. This depends on
the current operating system settings.
Tip
If several users are to work with TIS-Office, you can create a user group, e.g.
"TIS-Office User". In doing this, you will only have to set shares and configure
security settings for this user group.
For information on how to set up user groups please refer to your operating
system's online Help or the relevant documentation.
